Introducing to you Diggy Simmons (who you may know as Rev Run's son in 'Run's House.') I will forgive you for thinking that Diggy is only getting his music released because of his Dad's reputation, let me tell you now, this couldn't be furtherer from the truth. At the tender age of 15, Diggy has recently just released his third mixtape 'Past, Presents, Future' hosted by the legendary DJ Premier. Heres my favourite track from the mixtape called 'Flow Stoopid,' it sees Diggy going in on the Nas track 'Made You Look.'
His second mixtape was titled 'Airborne' and featured the likes of Pharrell, Lupe and also Boi-1da on production. It was released earlier this year to much critical acclaim. G style magazine stated 'Airborne is a banger that could be an official album so I advise that the MC’s get there game up because the kid don’t look like he’s going to let the legacy go without causing a ruckus.' My favourite track taken from the mixtape has got to be the opening track 'Oh Yeah!' featuring Lupe and Pharrell. Check it out for yourself below.
Diggy seems to possess the same natural flow that Rev Run used to show back in the day. His ability to rhyme on many different types of beats will stand him in good stead for the future. Watch out for Diggy in 2011!
