INTRODUCING BRIAN FOLK

Been a while since the last introducing post for you guys, but here is something new for you all. A Californian producer who goes by the name of Brian Folk. TJPN - YOUR GAMES

INTRODUCING KNXWLEDGE

I'd like to introduce you to LA based producer Knxwledge who's back catalogue seems to be so extensive it's been hard picking just two tracks for you. So after much deliberation here is 'Letme' and 'DarlngYew.'

BENZEL - FALLIN' LOVE

Here's a track from a production duo out of Japan known as Benzel. The track is titled 'Fallin' Love.'

INTRODUCING DJEMBA DJEMBA

Djemba Djemba (not the former Manchester United footballer) is a producer out of Los Angeles, California. He makes electronic music for the clubs and he describes his music as;

"music born from a state of permanent contradiction, held together by one underlying and adaptive principle: rhythm. Experimenting with polyrhythms, 90's FM synths, and the all-important 808 Kick, Djemba Djemba crafts a sound that is both intelligent as it is brain numbing."

INTRODUCING SKANKY

Here's a new artist I found on Soundcloud earlier today. Producer called Louis Johnson going by the name of Skanky. Below you can listen to his tracks 'Over' and 'Meant To Be.'

INTRODUCING YOIN

Yoin is a producer hailing from Scotland. Having a look through his Soundcloud tracks there seems to be a lot of variation in his productions. Below you can listen to his tracks 'Body Call' and a remix of Cassie's 'U & Me.'

INTRODUCING HIGH KLASSIFIED

Not too much info on this one. The names High Klassified and he's a producer out of Montreal, Canada. Heard one of his tracks in Baauer's Rinse FM mix and thought i'd check him out. You can listen to his tracks 'London Flexin' and 'High.Top.Music' below.

INTRODUCTION BAAUER

Baauer is a 22 year old DJ/Producer out of Brooklyn. In his own words he makes "hip-hop born from the internet." His music is an eclectic mix of Hip-Hop, trap and electronic music. He released his first single 'Harlem Shake' earlier this year and this has been followed up by the recent smash 'DumDum.' Keep an eye out on Baauer because the future looks very bright!

INTRODUCING ALPINE

Alpine are a six pience indie band out of Australia made up of vocalists Phoebe and Lou, guitarist Christian, Drummer Phil, Bassist Ryan and Tim on Keys. I came across the band earlier today after hearing their infectious track 'Gasoline' which as a truly great summer anthem. What makes this band so great is the amazing harmonies provided by the two vocalists and the tantalising infectious riffs played by the guitarist.

They released their debut album 'A Is For Alpine' late last year and have been touring ever since. You can listen to their songs 'Gasoline' and 'Villages' below and check them out on Soundcloud here.

INTRODUCING KING

I'd like to introduce you guys to this three piece R&B/Soul group out of Los Angeles. Think the soul of Erykah Badu with the musicality of Stevie Wonder and you get King. Not only are these three ladies amazing singers, unlike many R&B stars they write and produce their own stuff. Their debut EP 'The Story' was released last year and you can listen to it below. On a side note track three of the EP was sampled by Kendrick Lamar for his track 'Chapter Six.'

UNDER THE RADAR - MELE, KARMA KID, DISCLOSURE, ALUNAGEORGE

I haven’t done a feature for a while so I thought I’d hit you up with something special. ‘Under The Radar’ will be used to bring you artists that you may not be to familiar with but we think could be about to blow. In this first edition we have Mele, Karma Kid, Disclosure and AlunaGeorge.

Mele is a producer out of Liverpool, England. He recently released single ‘Beamer’ featuring rapper Kano and has quite a back catalogue of material that you can listen to on his Soundcloud here.

Secondly we have producer Karma Kid whos debut single ‘It’s Always’ came out earlier this month. Having just turned 18 it looks like he has a bright future ahead of him with big names such as Annie Mac already co-signing him. You can check him out on his Soundcloud here.

Our penultimate artist is Disclosure made up of brothers Guy & Howard Lawrence out of South London. Having already had many releases across numerous labels things are looking good for the duo. You can check them out on their Soundcloud here.

Finally we have AlunaGeorge made up of singer Aluna Francis and producer George Reid. They make R&B infused bass music that has that sort of Weeknd feel. You can check them out on their Soundcloud here.

INTRODUCING KASKET CLUB

INTRODUCING BEACH HOUSE

So it's been far too long since my last introducing post which I apologise for. I am going to be rolling out a few new features in the coming weeks to try and liven up this blog!

On to this post, i'd like to introduce dream pop duo 'Beach House' who are made up of Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally. Although they released their debut album back in 2006, I was only introduced to them recently. To this date they have released three studio albums with a fourth due for release next month.

INTROUCING NEON JUNG

There doesn't seem to be much info around the web regarding Neon Jung, all I can tell you is that he makes pretty great music! You can listen to his tracks 'Just Can't Leave It Alone' and 'Nembutal Snow' below.

INTRODUCING ROOFTOP RUNNERS

Rooftop Runners are a two piece from Canada made up of brothers Benedikt and Tobias MacIsaac. Their new EP 'We Are Here' will be released on April 13th and this should be followed up by a debut album sometime in 2012. The band are currently out touring Europe and you can catch the Trip-Pop duo performing all over the continent.

INTRODUCING M-PHAZES

M-Phazes is a producer born and raised in the Gold Coast of Australia. He describes his production as "soulful melodies coupled with loose, smacking drums" and his influences include Hip-Hop legends Dilla, Pete Rock and Battlecat. 


M-Phazes landed his first US placement all the way back in 2005 and has been steadily on the rise since then. He released his debut album 'Good Gracious' in 2010, the album was well received and also peaked inside the Top 20 of he Australian Album chart. His second release mixtape 'Phaze One' was a collaboration with rapper Emilio Rojas.

INTRODUCTION ALBY DANIELS

I've got to thank The Guardian's 'New Band Of The Day' for this recommendation. Alby Daniels is a singer/producer out of London/Brighton who The Guardian compare to the likes of Flying Lotus and D'Angelo (some pretty good company to be in!) With his eclectic production and crooning vocals you can see where these comparisons may come from.


The Guardian describe his debut EP 'This Dawn' as a "collection of stories about angst-filled days and blurry nights. It was released earlier this week on Black Acre Records.
